Strawberries are delicious on their own, sprinkled with sugar or in breakfast recipes, desserts and even salads (check out our Strawberry Recipes). If using them right away, it is best not to refrigerate them. Otherwise refrigerate for up to 2 days. Do not rinse or hull (remove stems) until ready to use.
Our current Strawberry field was planted the summer of 2009, and so we expect to pick from that field until the summer of 2012. We then plant a new field of berries in a different location, so we can rotate our crops so they do not over deplete the soil Strawberry Varieties

Storing and PreparingQuebec Strawberries are deliciously sweet. They should be used the same day they are purchased or picked for ultimate freshness. If using them right away, it is best not to refrigerate them. Otherwise you can refrigerate them for up to 2 days, but do not rinse or hull (remove stems) until ready to use.
Our Strawberries are safe to eat without rinsing, they only need to be rinsed to remove any dirt that may be on them. To freeze them, rinse and remove the stem then lay them on a baking sheet to freeze. Once frozen they can be transferred to a freezer Ziploc bag, this way they will not all be stuck together and you take out a few at a time to enjoy the rest of the year. |
